Trust & Safety
YachtNexa Trust & Safety
Version 1 · Effective 2026-08-27
YachtNexa is committed to creating a safer and more transparent marketplace for yacht buyers, sellers, brokers and marine service providers.
We provide the marketplace and tools that help people connect, while buyers and sellers remain responsible for independently evaluating each other, the yacht, documentation and the terms of any transaction.
1. Marketplace Safety
Before agreeing to anything, we encourage every user to:
- Verify the identity of the person or company they are dealing with
- Independently inspect yachts before purchase
- Verify ownership and registration documents
- Confirm specifications and condition
- Use qualified marine surveyors where appropriate
- Use independent legal and financial professionals for high-value transactions
- Use secure and traceable payment methods
2. Verified Sellers & Brokers
A verification badge on YachtNexa means only that YachtNexa has completed the specific verification checks stated by the platform for that account, such as confirming a contact email, a business name or documents supplied by the account holder. Checks are limited to what is stated and are carried out at a point in time.
A YachtNexa verification badge does not constitute a guarantee, endorsement, warranty or certification of a yacht, seller, broker or transaction.
3. Yacht Listing Integrity
- Sellers and brokers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings
- Yacht information must be truthful and kept current
- Misleading listings may be removed
- Duplicate or fraudulent listings may be investigated
- YachtNexa may request supporting documentation for a listing
Every yacht listing page includes a Report this listing action.
4. Fraud Prevention
Treat the following as warning signs and stop before sending money or documents:
- Prices that are unusually low for the yacht, year or condition
- Pressure to transfer money immediately or to "secure" the yacht
- Requests to move the conversation to suspicious or untraceable channels
- Ownership information that is inconsistent or cannot be evidenced
- Requests for payment to unrelated third parties or personal accounts
- Documents that appear altered, generic or unverifiable
- Impersonation of a known broker, yard, marina or of YachtNexa itself
5. Safe Payments
YachtNexa does not recommend sending funds until the buyer has independently verified the yacht, the ownership position and the identity of the other party.
YachtNexa does not hold, receive or transfer the purchase price of yachts between buyers and sellers.
YachtNexa does not provide escrow, payment protection or financial guarantees of any kind. Where funds need to be protected, use an independent, appropriately regulated professional chosen by the parties themselves.
6. Yacht Inspection & Survey
For any purchase we recommend:
- A physical inspection of the yacht
- An independent marine survey by a qualified surveyor
- A sea trial where appropriate
- An engine and mechanical inspection
- Verification of registration, ownership and any outstanding finance or encumbrances
7. Reporting & Enforcement
You can report suspicious listings, suspected fraud, impersonation, misleading information, abusive behaviour, prohibited content and suspicious brokers or sellers. Reports are reviewed by the YachtNexa Trust & Safety team, and we may remove content, request documentation, or restrict or suspend accounts.
8. Emergency Notice
YachtNexa Trust & Safety is not an emergency service and is not monitored 24/7.
If you or anyone else is in immediate danger, or a crime is in progress, contact your local emergency authorities or coastguard immediately.
Marketplace disclosure
YachtNexa provides an online marketplace that enables independent buyers, sellers, brokers and marine service providers to connect. Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular service, YachtNexa is not a party to the underlying yacht sale or service agreement.
